Gramps' Birthday
I remember it was down the street from where they lived on Rankin Street off Boulevard. Glen Iris runs parallel to Boulevard. He worked very hard in a laundry. He would walk to work and walk home. Granny and Gramps never had a car that I remember. He was so happy and always smiling and trying to help people. He took such great care of Granny and worked almost until the day he died in 1970, because he wanted to always be able to pay for Granny's medical fees or whatever she needed. He also worked at Capital City Club in Atlanta. Daddy Joe and I picked him up and brought him home several times. Usually, he caught the street car almost home and walked the rest of the way. Great Man and I loved him so much.
